An award-winning classroom — with its own toilet — in Glastonbury
QC Garden Studio 10m x 4m · Glastonbury, Somerset
St John's C of E Infants' added a self-contained 10m x 4m classroom with a plumbed-in toilet — a design that won a Smarta award for innovation.
St John’s C of E VC Infants’ School in Glastonbury needed a full classroom that could run independently of the main building. They chose a 10m x 4m garden studio — with a toilet plumbed in — so the space works as a self-contained teaching room rather than relying on a trip back inside.
The design was recognised with a Smarta award for innovation: a modern, properly insulated classroom delivered without the cost, planning and months of disruption a traditional build would have meant.
As with every Booths building, it sits on independently adjustable concrete feet (no concrete base required), is insulated for year-round teaching, and carries the zero-maintenance exterior and 25-year structural guarantee — a durable classroom that protects the school’s maintenance budget for decades.
