Hindhayes Infant School's garden library — installed in five days
QC6 Garden Studio 30' x 12' (9100mm x 3640mm) · Street, Somerset
Hindhayes Infant School added a peaceful 30' x 12' garden library — installed in five days, with a flyover roof and decking for outdoor reading.
Hindhayes Infant School wanted a calm, dedicated reading space away from the bustle of the main building. They chose a large 30’ x 12’ QC6 garden studio, fitted out as a library for the school’s infant pupils.
The whole building was delivered and installed in just five days — no concrete base or groundworks, and minimal disruption to the school day. A 6’ flyover roof over decking gives the children a sheltered outdoor reading area right outside the door, extending the library into the garden in good weather.
Because it’s the same zero-maintenance shell we build for thousands of gardens, it’s warm and quiet year-round on 90mm insulation and A-rated double glazing, and the exterior never needs painting or treating — so it won’t draw down the school’s maintenance budget. The whole project came in at around £55,000, a fraction of what a conventional extension of the same size would cost.
