Gill's guest bedroom and home gym in one

Gill's 18' x 12' LoLine QC garden room, used as a guest bedroom and garden gym, with a cartridge toilet and cartridge sink fitted to avoid £8,000 of groundworks.
Alex and I visited Gill, who has an 18′ x 12′ (5460mm x 3640mm) LoLine QC garden room. It was installed in September 2012, so it was interesting to see how she has been getting on with her garden studio.
Gill wanted a toilet in her garden room, but the groundworks for a mains toilet were going to cost about £8,000 because her garden was so long with lots of trees in the way. So Gill decided to have a cartridge toilet installed in her garden room — a chemical toilet similar to those installed in expensive motor homes.
To go with the cartridge toilet, Gill has a cartridge sink, which is a clever piece of kit — when you put your hands under the tap, it automatically dispenses enough hot water to wash your hands. It has 2 x 5 litre containers below it: one with fresh water, and one which is empty. The fresh water is used to wash your hands and the dirty water then simply empties into the other 5 litre container. Perfect for occasional hand washing.
The studio is also used as a guest bedroom and garden gym, with partition walls discussed for family use. Many thanks to Gill for her time, comments and cups of tea.
